When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
Psalm 8:3-5
Ponder for a moment the vastness of the universe.
In the book, The Stranger in the Road to Emmaus , the author shares these facts.
Imagine we are traveling at the speed of light. In one second you will travel around the earth 7 times, pass the moon in two seconds, Mars in four seconds and Pluto in five hours.
At the speed of light you will reach the closest star in 4.3 years. (Every second you are traveling 186,000 miles.)
You will reach the next nearest galaxy in 2,000,000 years. And you have only just began to travel the universe.
An amazing God who loves us. Beautiful pictures.
